THOUGHTS ON "STUFF" ...

It was overwhelming to digest "Stuff" but at the same time, eye-opening. I never really though about the food I eat, the clothes I wear or the thing I do in such a way before. Who knew that a 55-pound computer can generate 139 lbs of waste, 7300 gallons of water and 2300 kilowatt-hours of energy? Or that a mouthful of American food travels "1200 miles from farm to consumer"? I didn't. Too busy consuming , I didn't realize how much damages I can do to the environment. For example, every time I drive, I make a contribution to environmental pollution since gasoline is one of the main sources of CO2 emissions. Yet, there is a tiny sparkle of hope at the end of this quietly horrific book. "A sustainable North America is entirely possible..." There are solutions to the environmental issues that we are facing right now. It is up to us to find out what they are. This book is truly for everyone who cares about the land they live on and the future of our planet. Read it and start looking for the solution, people!
